DAVA National Executive Committee (NEC)

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary (DAVA) is the governing body responsible for overseeing the organization's policies, approving minutes from the National Conventions, and enforcing the National Constitution and Bylaws between annual conventions.

Composition and Leadership

• Members: The NEC is comprised of the elected National Commander, past national commanders, and an elected representative (and alternate) from each of the organization's 21 geographical districts.

• Current Leadership: National Commander Melissa Pierce and National Adjutant Bunny Clos oversee the organization's headquarters in Erlanger, Kentucky. 

Responsibilities

• Policy and Appointments: The NEC approves the National Commander's appointments for national chairmen and VAVS (Veterans Affairs Voluntary Service) representatives.

• Bylaw Amendments: The NEC reviews proposed resolutions and amendments to the constitution and bylaws, which are voted on during the annual convention floor.

Governance

The NEC serves as an essential bridge between regional DAVA units, State Departments, and the National Headquarters, ensuring all regional operations align with the Auxiliary’s overarching mission to support veterans and their families.
