Senior Vice Commander Rodney Hage Receives
High Honors at 2026 Department Convention
Department Senior Vice Commander Rodney Hage received two important awards at this year's Department Convention. First, he was recognized as "Service Officer of the Year," the first year in recent memory that this award was presented. Second, he was recognized for his sustained superior performance and noteworthy contributions in his DAV leadership roles at both STAR Chapter 24 and as a Department of Arizona officer, by being awarded the Department's "Distinguished Service Award," representing the highest award bestowed by the Department.

Senior Vice Hage, as both the Department's Membership Chair and experience as an IT professional, has been a key leader in the Department's initiatives to bring remote service offices to serve our Native American Veterans as well as locations to serve our rural Veterans. Both these segments of the Veteran Community have long been underserved--or even UNserved--for decades.
Department of Arizona takes seriously the admonition at the end of the Installation Ritual: "...our mission as a Disabled American Veterans organization is not fulfilled until all our country’s war-time disabled, and their dependents and survivors, have been adequately cared for.”
