The Chapter 8 Story

Chapter 8 was chartered by the National Disabled American Veterans (DAV) organization on September 30, 1953, after the armistice was signed ending active combat operations in Korea. The Chapter was initially chartered as Tri-Cities Chapter 8, and the name was changed later to East Valley Chapter 8, recognizing the rapid expansion of the Central Valley region east of Phoenix and the need to recognize and serve those Veterans and their families. 2028 will mark 75 years of service to the East Valley!

Volunteerism

Volunteers form the grassroots efforts of DAV across America. In Chapter 8, there are no paid employees--only a dedicated cadre of volunteers with hearts of service to the Veteran Community. From receptionists, to triage specialists who make initial contact with Veterans when they arrive for claims services, to office staff who manage the operations of the chapter, to one of the largest teams of Chapter Service Officers in the state--led by one of only five Level 2 Service Officers in Arizona.

Let’s Serve Together

Volunteer with us and help Veterans live high-quality lives with respect and dignity!
