DAV Supports VA Veteran Patients
October 19, 2026
Today we observed a DAV van providing FREE transportation services to Veterans at the Northern Arizona VA Healthcare System in Prescott, AZ.

In 2025, the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Transportation Network operated at a massive scale both nationally and locally:
-
National Impact: Nationwide, DAV volunteer drivers covered 9.6 million miles in 2025 to transport injured and ill veterans to and from their medical appointments.
-
Arizona Scope: The network covers the vast majority of Arizona's expansive geography. For instance, the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System alone transports between 1,500 and 1,700 veterans monthly via DAV vans, while the Northern Arizona VA relies on volunteer drivers to cover a massive catchment area spanning more than 65,000 square miles.
Our nation’s veterans traveled around the globe to protect our freedoms—it’s only right that we return their dedication. Volunteering to drive a veteran helps those who don’t have transportation make their critical VA medical appointments and never go without the treatment they need. The DAV Transportation Network is administered by our Hospital Service Coordinators at VA medical facilities around the country. Our drivers are all volunteers.
Would YOU like to join the excitement, meet interesting Veterans from every era from World War II to today, and have the great feeling of accomplishment as you serve those who served?
